I love the reminder to stay young by searching the sky on Christmas Eve. How long has it been since you allowed your imagination to take you back to the days when you left cookies and milk near the Christmas tree for Santa?

One of the best ways for me to step into the magic of Christmas is to watch the old holiday classics in black and white. “It’s A Wonderful Life,” with Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed, “Scrooge,” with Alistair Sim, and “Holiday Inn,” with Bing Crosby, Marjorie Reynolds, and Fred Astaire, are great old Christmas films.

The beautiful leaded glass window with the blue accents is amazing! The glass will look incredible hung in front of a large window in your home. The sun shining through the antique window will be amazing.

The stack of antique suitcases is intriguing. I wonder where they have traveled. Maybe they’ve been on an old paddleboat steaming down the Mississippi River. Maybe they’ve been on a ship crossing the Atlantic. Maybe they heard the sound of the wheels clanking beneath the floor of a passenger train pulled by a huge steam locomotive across Europe!

This display is in the front room of The Grainery. The large round mirror surrounded by the white frame is fascinating. I imagine it was part the decorative exterior of a huge old house. Or maybe it was inside the great ballroom of a massive, elegant hotel in New York City.

The antique hobby horse pulling the wagon is a beautiful piece. On the floor beside the horse is a long leather horse bell strap. If you listen, you can still hear the jingle-jangle as the horses pull the sleigh through the snow.

The Grainery location of Chic Antiques Market is an amazing old structure. The framework inside the building is so interesting! All the old grain chutes are still in place, with wood handle blades used to stop the grain from falling.
