Sunday Song: In the Spirit of Praise

I wrote this song forty-two years ago. We have sung it many times.

In the Spirit of Praise
Lyrics by Dale Parsons, all rights reserved

Gently, the Spirit of the Lord speaks to me,
Sweetly, and soft as the rain,
Causing the trials and temptations to flee,
That is why I will remain.

In the Spirit of praise
I will make my residence.
In the Spirit of praise
I will dwell in God’s presence.
With my hands lifted up
And my mouth filled with psalm
I will rest in the glory of the Lord,
In the Spirit of praise,
In the Spirit of praise.

Rest for the weary and peace for the soul,
Hearts in bondage the Spirit sets free.
He brings comfort in sorrow and healing for pain,
The strength of the Lord comes to me.

In the Spirit of praise
I will make my residence.
In the Spirit of praise
I will dwell in God’s presence.
With my hands lifted up
And my mouth filled with psalm
I will rest in the glory of the Lord,
In the Spirit of praise,
In the Spirit of praise.
